How can I improve my student's/child's letter recognition? 
  • Do a "Drill Sandwich" - Go over 3 words they know and two that they don't know
  • Develop/Create picture dictionaries
  • Sorting words
  • Memory game using letters
  • Trace letters in shaving cream, glitter, Jello
  • Use sign language
  • Use alphabet soup/cereal to teach letters
  • Letter recognition BINGO (can be purchased in teacher stores)
  • Letter recognition dominoes (can also be purchased in teacher stores, or can be homemade)
  • Big books
  • Predictable books
  • Label objects in the environment (sink, desk, rug, chair, etc.)
  • WORDO - BINGO with words
