- Do a "Drill Sandwich" - Go over 3 words they know and two that they don't know
- Develop/Create picture dictionaries
- Sorting words
- Memory game using letters
- Trace letters in shaving cream, glitter, Jello
- Use sign language
- Use alphabet soup/cereal to teach letters
- Letter recognition BINGO (can be purchased in teacher stores)
- Letter recognition dominoes (can also be purchased in teacher stores, or can be homemade)
- Big books
- Predictable books
- Label objects in the environment (sink, desk, rug, chair, etc.)
- WORDO - BINGO with words
