KWL is an activity that a class does before, during, and and after an activity. It can be used with reading or any other subject where they learn something. It is also a good activity because it taps into prior knowledge, and the teacher can use it to assess whether a topic is appropriate or not. The "K" stands for "What do you know?" The "W" stands for "What do wonder about?" The "L" stands for "What did you learn?"
